SUMARTE is the private art auction organized since 2004 by a group of people integrated in AMARTE, Friends of MARTE. This event is an annual effort that involves organizers, artists, collectors, judges and sponsors, who contribute in different ways to ensure its success since the Museum's educational programs are highly dependent on this program.

Participants are divided into three categories: Guest Artists, Committee Suggestions, and Selected Artists whose works are chosen each year by a world class international jury that gives awards and Honorable Mentions.

The auction begins with a summon to artists during the first quarter of the year, which sets the schedule. Works of art to be auctioned are registered in a catalog and displayed during a period of 15 days prior to the auction held in November to which collectors and art lovers are invited.
