Teacher training programs operate since 2003 and are held throughout the year free of charge to interested teachers. A total of 1,045 teachers have been trained to date to know, learn and experience aspects related to the Museum, visual arts in general and how to introduce art into the classroom.

From this year on, training will be centered on the theme "Approaches to Salvadoran Art, from the Pre-Hispanic to the Contemporary." The only requirement for registration is to be an active teacher. The number of attendees is limited and attendance is mandatory. At the end of the seven sessions, teachers are awarded a certificate of participation.

In 2009 and 2010 the Ministry of Education provided support for the program. The Ford Foundation is providing the support for the program for the year 2011.
